EYE IN
THE SKY
The name The Eye in the Sky will only make sense once you are here ~~
This stunning 700 sq ft A-frame cabin was built in 1967 and is the oldest standing home in the neighborhood. Located high up on a hill in a tranquil neighborhood less than 5 minute drive downtown the cabin is surrounded by 1.67 acres which backs up against the state park.
Land acknowledgement here.
I am only offering cabin stays to friends and trusted friends of my friends. Please only pass this along to people you trust will see how special the space is. I want to know that whoever is staying will be respectful, not only of the home and my belongings, but also of the neighbors, the locals, the animals, nature and the land and bring only good vibes.
Come visit Eye/Idyllwild to relax and take a break from the chaos, pollution and loudness of the city. It’s very quiet here, clean air and it smells good too!
I’ve kept the cabin mostly original from the late 60s, but I added some modern amenities and sweet comforts ~~
The cabin is intended to be a creative space, a place to connect with nature/self/others or to find some solitude and stillness. The quietness makes it ideal for creating, writing or meditating. It's also thoughtfully set up for cooking, bathing, watching movies, playing records, yoga, meditation and relaxing. There are numerous beautiful hiking trails nearby and the outdoor spaces are designed to take in the surroundings. I've seen at least 14 species of birds, 11 different types of trees, and besides many chipmunks, deer, and bobcats, there are 9 mountain lions that we know of in the area (which I have not seen yet). From the cabin and balcony the 180 degree view is mesmerizing - the views are nothing short of epic. You will feel the elements of nature and see the weather patterns emerge and shift right before your eyes and when its a full moon you’ll need a sleep mask. The cabin invites a nice combo of indoor/outdoor living as weather permits.
Photos don’t do this place justice, but here’s a little peek! (sneak peek vs. mountain peak)
